The Bat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DD EE

By day the bat is cousin to the mouseA
He likes the attic of an aging houseA
-
His fingers make a hat about his headB
His pulse beat is so slow we think him deadB
-
He loops in crazy figures half the nightC
Among the trees that face the corner lightC
-
But when he brushes up against a screenD
We are afraid of what our eyes have seenD
-
For something is amiss or out of placeE
When mice with wings can wear a human faceE
