Fable Of The Rhododendron Stealers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFDG HDDD IJDJ DKDL MCNO PQRQ

I walked the unwalked garden of rose bedsA
In the public park at home felt the wantB
Of a single rose present to imagineC
The garden's remainder in full paintD
-
The stone lion head set in the wallE
Let drop its spittle of sluggish greenF
Into the stone basin I snippedD
An orange bud pocketed it WhenG
-
It had opened its orange in my vaseH
Retrogressed to blowze I next chose redD
Argued my conscience clear which robbedD
The park of less red than withering didD
-
Musk satisfied my nose red my eyeI
The petals' nap my fingertipsJ
I considered the poetry I rescuedD
From blind air from complete eclipseJ
-
Yet today a yellow bud in my handD
I stalled at sudden noisy crashesK
From the laurel thicket No one approachedD
A spasm took the rhododendron bushesL
-
Three girls engrossed were wrenching full clustersM
Of cerise and pink from the rhododendronC
Mountaining them on spread newspaperN
They brassily picked slowed by no chagrinO
-
And wouldn't pause for my straight lookP
But gave me pause my rose a chargeQ
Whether nicety stood confounded by loveR
Or petty thievery by largeQ
