The Peaks Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFG HIJKEL HMDNOPL ABC

In the nightA
Grey heavy clouds muffled the valleysB
And the peaks looked toward God aloneC
'O Master that movest the wind with a fingerD
Humble idle futile peaks are weE
Grant that we may run swiftly across the worldF
To huddle in worship at Thy feet 'G
-
In the morningH
A noise of men at work came the clear blue milesI
And the little black cities were apparentJ
'O Master that knowest the meaning of raindropsK
Humble idle futile peaks are weE
Give voice to us we pray O LordL
That we may sing Thy goodness to the sun '-
-
In the eveningH
The far valleys were sprinkled with tiny lightsM
'O MasterD
Thou that knowest the value of kings and birdsN
Thou hast made us humble idle futile peaksO
Thou only needest eternal patienceP
We bow to Thy wisdom O LordL
Humble idle futile peaks '-
-
In the nightA
Grey heavy clouds muffled the valleysB
And the peaks looked toward God aloneC
