The Soldiers At Lauro Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEBGHGIJKJLMNM

Young are our deadA
Like babies they lieB
The wombs they blest onceC
Not healed dryB
And yet too soonD
Into each spaceE
A cold earth fallsF
On colder faceE
Quite still they lieB
These fresh cut reedsG
Clutched in earthH
Like winter seedsG
But they will not bloomI
When called by springJ
To burst with leafK
And blossomingJ
They sleep onL
In silent dustM
As crosses rotN
And helmets rustM
