'Twas midnight in the schoolroomA
And every desk was shutB
When suddenly from the alphabetC
Was heard a loud Tut TutB

Said A to B I don't like CD
His manners are a lackE
For all I ever see of CD
Is a semi circular backE

I disagree said D to BD
I've never found C soF
From where I stand he seems to beD
An uncompleted OF

C was vexed I'm much perplexedG
You criticise my shapeH
I'm made like that to help spell CatI
And Cow and Cool and CapeH

He's right said E said F WhoopeeD
Said G 'Ip 'Ip 'oorayJ
You're dropping me roared H to GD
Don't do it please I prayJ

Out of my way LL said to KJ
I'll make poor I look ILLK
To stop this stunt J stood in frontL
And presto ILL was JILLK

Is twice the age of meD
For as a Roman V is fiveM
I'm half as young as heD

X and Y yawned sleepilyD
Look at the time they saidN
Let's all get off to beddy byesF
