| Had Rumbling Bowles | A |
| That thundered in the night | B |
| It shook the bedrooms all around | C |
| And gave the folks a fright | B |
| The doctor called | D |
| He was appalled | D |
| When through his stethoscope | E |
| He heard the sound of a baying hound | C |
| And the acrid smell of smoke | F |
| Was there a cure | G |
| 'The higher the fewer' | G |
| The learned doctor said | H |
| Then turned poor Maveric inside out | I |
| And stood him on his head | H |
| 'Just as I though | J |
| You've been and caught | K |
| An Asiatic flu | L |
| You musn't go near dogs I fear | G |
| Unless they come near you ' | M |
| Poor Maveric cried | N |
| He went cross eyed | N |
| His legs went green and blue | L |
| The doctor hit him with a club | O |
| And charged him one and two | L |
| And so my friend | P |
| This is the end | P |
| A warning to the few | L |
| Stay clear of doctors to the end | P |
| Or they'll get rid of you | L |
