The Truth Of Woman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EFGGDDHH

Woman's faith and woman's trustA
Write the characters in the dustA
Stamp them on the running streamB
Print them on the moon's pale beamB
And each evanescent letterC
Shall be clearer firmer betterC
And more permanent I weenD
Than the thing those letters meanD
-
I have strain'd the spider's threadE
'Gainst the promise of a maidF
I have weigh'd a grain of sandG
'Gainst her plight of heart and handG
I told my true love of the tokenD
How her faith proved light and her word was brokenD
Again her word and truth she plightH
And I believed them again ere nightH
