A BURDEN A PAINA
-
-
-
I keen this pen to tell a taleB
By the moonlight where peace waitC
Not for sympathy Not to wailB
Not for weakness but to mark this dateC
For in the end this burden will be greatC
-
-
I stand by a dale where love once jivedC
Filled with hope and memoriesD
It was once a cottage I did thrivedC
Once a place encouraged not to stop the triesE
But now a place that echoes liesE
-
Each passing moment a burden to bearF
Each passing day ignites painA
I walked by the tide to nature's careF
To cry to mother Earth of what's remainA
Of this burden of this painA
-
I found sorrow I found hateC
I found sickness and now feels rightC
But deep within this lines is but a slateC
Just a little part of the burden I wearF
Just a little part of the painA
