The Dug-out Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE

Why do you lie with your legs ungainly huddledA
And one arm bent across your sullen coldB
Exhausted face It hurts my heart to watch youC
Deep shadow'd from the candle's guttering goldB
And you wonder why I shake you by the shoulderD
Drowsy you mumble and sigh and turn your headE
You are too young to fall asleep for everD
And when you sleep you remind me of the deadE
