October Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD CCACCA

Across the land a faint blue veil of mistA
Seems hung the woods wear yet arrayment soberB
Till frost shall make them flame silent and whistA
The drooping cherry orchards of OctoberB
Like mournful pennons hang their shrivelling leavesC
Russet and orange all things now decayD
Long since ye garnered in your autumn sheavesC
And sad the robins pipe at set of dayD
-
Now do ye dream of Spring when greening shawsC
Confer with the shrewd breezes and of slopesC
Flower kirtled and of April virgin guestA
Days that ye love despite their windy flawsC
Since they are woven with all joys and hopesC
Whereof ye nevermore shall be possessedA
