Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFG HIJKLMNO

When I was young my heart and head were lightA
And I was gay and feckless as a coltB
Out in the fields with morning in the mayC
Wind on the grass wings in the orchard bloomD
O thrilling sweet my joy when life was freeE
And all the paths led on from hawthorn timeF
Across the carolling meadows into JuneG
-
But now my heart is heavy laden I sitH
Burning my dreams away beside the fireI
For death has made me wise and bitter and strongJ
And I am rich in all that I have lostK
O starshine on the fields of long agoL
Bring me the darkness and the nightingaleM
Dim wealds of vanished summer peace of homeN
And silence and the faces of my friendsO
