Invocation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFFGHIJ

Come down from heaven to meet me when my breathA
Chokes and through drumming shafts of stifling deathA
I stumble toward escape to find the doorB
Opening on morn where I may breathe once moreB
Clear cock crow airs across some valley dimC
With whispering trees While dawn along the rimC
Of night's horizon flows in lakes of fireD
Come down from heaven's bright hill my song's desireD
-
Belov'd and faithful teach my soul to wakeE
In glades deep ranked with flowers that gleam and shakeE
And flock your paths with wonder In your gazeF
Show me the vanquished vigil of my daysF
Mute in that golden silence hung with greenG
Come down from heaven and bring me in your eyesH
Remembrance of all beauty that has beenI
And stillness from the pools of ParadiseJ
