Fight To A Finish Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DED EFG

The boys came back Bands played and flags were flyingA
And Yellow Pressmen thronged the sunlit streetB
To cheer the soldiers who'd refrained from dyingA
And hear the music of returning feetB
Of all the thrills and ardours War has broughtC
This moment is the finest So they thoughtC
-
Snapping their bayonets on to charge the mobD
Grim Fusiliers broke ranks with glint of steelE
At last the boys had found a cushy jobD
-
I heard the Yellow Pressmen grunt and squealE
And with my trusty bombers turned and wentF
To clear those Junkers out of ParliamentG
