Ex-service Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACBACC DEDFGGDF

Derision from the deadA
Mocks armamental madnessB
Redeem each Ruler saidA
Mankind Men died to do itC
And some with glorying gladnessB
Bore arms for earth and bledA
But most went glumly through itC
Dumbly doomed to rue itC
-
The darkness of their dyingD
Grows one with War recordedE
Whose swindled ghosts are cryingD
From shell holes in the pastF
Our deeds with lies were laudedG
Our bones with wrongs rewardedG
Dream voices these denyingD
Dud laurels to the lastF
