Elegy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEDE FGFG

TO ROBERT ROSSA
-
-
Your dextrous wit will haunt us longB
Wounding our grief with yesterdayC
Your laughter is a broken songB
And death has found you kind and gayC
-
We may forget those transient thingsD
That made your charm and our delightE
But loyal love has deathless wingsD
That rise and triumph out of nightE
-
So in the days to come your nameF
Shall be as music that ascendsG
When honour turns a heart from shameF
O heart of hearts O friend of friendsG
