Editorial Impressions Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABDDEDEFGFGHFFFH

He seemed so certain all was going wellA
As he discussed the glorious time he'd hadB
While visiting the trenchesC
One can tellA
You've gathered big impressions grinned the ladB
Who'd been severely wounded in the backD
In some wiped out impossible AttackD
Impressions Yes most vivid I am writingE
A little book called Europe on the RackD
Based on notes made while witnessing the fightingE
I hope I've caught the feeling of 'the Line'F
And the amazing spirit of the troopsG
By Jove those flying chaps of ours are fineF
I watched one daring beggar looping loopsG
Soaring and diving like some bird of preyH
And through it all I felt that splendour shineF
Which makes us winF
The soldier sipped his wineF
Ah yes but it's the Press that leads the wayH
