Banishment Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCEDC

I am banished from the patient men who fightA
They smote my heart to pity built my prideB
Shoulder to aching shoulder side by sideB
They trudged away from life's broad wealds of lightA
Their wrongs were mine and ever in my sightA
They went arrayed in honour But they diedB
Not one by one and mutinous I criedB
To those who sent them out into the nightA
-
The darkness tells how vainly I have strivenC
To free them from the pit where they must dwellD
In outcast gloom convulsed and jagged and rivenC
By grappling guns Love drove me to rebelE
Love drives me back to grope with them through hellD
And in their tortured eyes I stand forgivenC
