Where the jousters were Heart and BrainC

Flourished again Brain stood apartD
Steel armored dark and coldE

But Brain sat still with never a soundF
So cynical calm was heG

From his lady's white hand caughtI
While Brain wore a plumeless casque not heG
Or favor gave or soughtJ

The herald blew Heart shot a glanceK
To find his lady's eyeA
But Brain gazed straight ahead his lanceK
To aim more faithfullyG

They charged they struck both fell both bledL
Brain rose again unglovedL
Heart dying smiled and faintly saidL
