On A Palmetto Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDEE

Through all that year scarred agony of heightA
Unblest of bough or bloom to where expandsB
His wandy circlet with his bladed bandsB
Dividing every wind or loud or lightA
To termless hymns of love and old despiteA
Yon tall palmetto in the twilight standsB
Bare Dante of these purgatorial sandsB
That glimmer marginal to the monstrous nightA
Comes him a Southwind from the scented vineC
It breathes of Beatrice through all his bladesD
North East or West Guelph wind or GhibellineC
'Tis shredded into music down the shadesD
All sea breaths land breaths systol diastolE
Sway minstrels of that grief melodious SoulE
