Nilsson Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BBC DDD EEE FFF GGG HHH I

A rose of perfect red embossedA
With silver sheens of crystal frostA
Yet warm nor life nor fragrance lostA
-
High passion throbbing in a sphereB
That Art hath wrought of diamond clearB
A great heart beating in a tearC
-
The listening soul is full of dreamsD
That shape the wondrous varying themesD
As cries of men or plash of streamsD
-
Or noise of summer rain drops roundE
That patter daintily a groundE
With hints of heaven in the soundE
-
Or noble wind tones chanting freeF
Through morning skies across the seaF
Wild hymns to some strange majestyF
-
O if one trope clear cut and keenG
May type the art of Song's best queenG
White hot of soul white chaste of mienG
-
On Music's heart doth Nilsson dwellH
As if a Swedish snow flake fellH
Into a glowing flower bellH
-
-
