The Joy Of Giving Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDEFGGHHIIJK

I thought giving away my thingsA
Would make me feel sadB
But I was strong In fact it made me gladB
As I parted with my little belongingsA
I witnessed happy faces gleaming eyesC
And hearts singingD
One throw to my ballE
One hug to my dollF
One look at my boxG
One try of my socksG
One bite of my sweetsH
And many more treatsH
It was great fun to try thisI
It was pure happiness and sheer blissI
For now I know the joy you give othersJ
Comes back to you to make your heart glowK

Poet's note: The poem is about the joy of sharing your things with others, even those which are dear to you. I wrote it for my son as I wanted him to feel the joy of sharing his beloved belongings with others as well. It has some lovely thoughts in the form of words.
