I thought.....giving away my things
Would make me feel sad,
But I was strong, In fact it made me glad,
As I parted with my little belongings,
I witnessed happy faces, gleaming eyes,
And hearts singing,
One throw to my ball,
One hug to my doll,
One look at my box,
One try of my socks,
One bite of my sweets,
And many more treats,
It was great fun to try this,
It was pure happiness and sheer bliss,
For now I know, the joy you give others,
Comes back to you, to make your heart glow.

Poet's note: The poem is about the joy of sharing your things with others, even those which are dear to you. I wrote it for my son as I wanted him to feel the joy of sharing his beloved belongings with others as well. It has some lovely thoughts in the form of words.
