| I selected the path of painful defiance | B |

| prayers were made to the heavens | D |
| a call in me to stand for the right | E |
| I started a movement with all my might | E |

| The state of my brothers was just terrible | F |
| discrimination caused was unbearable | F |

| but I chose to get beheaded instead | G |

| Today my nation is adorned with victory | A |
| my story has become a part of its history | A |
| I wonder from above what would have happened | H |
| if the road I had chosen I had abandoned | H |
