The Margin Of A Stream Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABCBB DEFDEFBBGHIGHIBBJBJB

The margin of a stream the willow's shadeA
A mind inclined to song a mistress sweetB
A Cup bearer whose cheek outshines the roseC
A friend upon whose heart thy heart is laidA
Oh Happy starred let not thine hours fleetB
Unvalued may each minute as it goesC
Lay tribute of enjoyment at thy feetB
That thou may'st live and know thy life is sweetB
-
Let every one upon whose heart desireD
For a fair face lies like a burden soreE
That all his hopes may reach their goal uncheckedF
Throw branches of wild rue upon his fireD
My soul is like a bride with a rich storeE
Of maiden thoughts and jewelled fancies deckedF
And in Time's gallery I yet may meetB
Some picture meant for me some image sweetB
Give thanks for nights spent in good companyG
And take the gifts a tranquil mind may bringH
No heart is dark when the kind moon doth shineI
And grass grown river banks are fair to seeG
The Saki's radiant eyes God favouringH
Are like a wine cup brimming o'er with wineI
And him my drunken sense goes out to greetB
For e'en the pain he leaves behind is sweetB
Hafiz thy life has sped untouched by careJ
With me towards the tavern turn thy feetB
The fairest robbers thou'lt encounter thereJ
And they will teach thee what to learn is sweetB
