Brings Me Hope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACC DEFGHH BIIBCC JKKJLM NOONPQ

WHAT drunkenness is this that brings me hopeA
Who was the Cup bearer and whence the wineB
That minstrel singing with full voice divineB
What lay was his for 'mid the woven ropeA
Of song he brought word from my Friend to meC
Set to his melodyC
-
The wind itself bore joy to SolomonD
The Lapwing flew from Sheba's garden closeE
Bringing good tidings of its queen and roseF
Take thou the cup and go where meadows spanG
The plain whither the bird with tuneful throatH
Has brought Spring's sweeter noteH
-
Welcome oh rose and full blown eglantineB
The violets their scented gladness flingI
Jasmin breathes purity art sorrowingI
Like an unopened bud oh heart of mineB
The wind of dawn that sets closed blossoms freeC
Brings its warm airs to theeC
-
Saki thy kiss shall still my bitter cryJ
Lift up your grief bowed heads all ye that weepK
The Healer brings joy's wine cup oh drink deepK
Disciple of the Tavern priest am IJ
The pious Sheikh may promise future blissL
He brings me where joy isM
-
The greedy glances of a Tartar hordeN
To me seemed kind my foeman spared me notO
Though one poor robe was all that I had gotO
But Heaven served Hafiz as a slave his lordN
And when he fled through regions desolateP
Heaven brought him to thy gateQ
