Arise And Fill A Golden Goblet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDBEFEFGGFHIHJKK ILMLMNNMOPOP Q

Arise and fill a golden goblet upA
Until the wine of pleasure overflowB
Before into thy skull's pale empty cupA
A grimmer Cup bearer the dust shall throwB
Yea to the Vale of Silence we must comeC
Yet shall the flagon laugh and Heaven's domeD
Thrill with an answering echo ere we goB
Thou knowest that the riches of this fieldE
Make no abiding let the goblet's fireF
Consume the fleeting harvest Earth may yieldE
Oh Cypress tree green home of Love's sweet choirF
When I unto the dust I am have passedG
Forget thy former wantonness and castG
Thy shadow o'er the dust of my desireF
Flow bitter tears and wash me clean for theyH
Whose feet are set upon the road that liesI
Twixt Earth and Heaven Thou shalt be pure ' they sayH
'Before unto the pure thou lift thine eyes 'J
Seeing but himself the Zealot sees but sinK
Grief to the mirror of his soul let inK
Oh Lord and cloud it with the breath of sighsI
No tainted eye shall gaze upon her faceL
No glass but that of an unsullied heartM
Shall dare reflect my Lady's perfect graceL
Though like to snakes that from the herbage startM
Thy curling locks have wounded me full soreN
Thy red lips hold the power of the bezoarN
Ah touch and heat me where I lie apartM
And when from her the wind blows perfume sweetO
Tear Hafiz like the rose thy robe in twoP
And cast thy rags beneath her flying feetO
To deck the place thy mistress passes throughP
