When ever the season of spring comesA
crowds of poets in the sub continentB
gather truck loads of mango groves and cuckoos andC
cram them into their pagesD
My experience is anotherE
Did you ever see the cycle of timeF
See I will show the sequenceG
-
The wind entered the branchH
a rain of old leaves fell on the earthI
then sitting on the naked branch the cuckoo sangJ
-
The branch beamed with new leavesK
it is the neem tree in the front yard of my houseL
it saw me and laughedM
-
Then on its branches fell a rain of starsN
I ran to catch some of those starsN
they are not the twinkling stars of the skyO
Their fragrance unparalleledP
by that of any flower in creationQ
The lavishness of the scent of the new flowersR
intoxicated meS
My thoughts got vanquishedT
I stood like an innocent boyU
before the neem treeS
-
I too grew little little branchesD
with twinkling star like flowers on themV
Then the neem tree took me into its armsW
-
If experience is a realityS
for the deity of illusionQ
then dream is its templeX
-
the monks say thatY
illusion and reality are differentB
is it trueZ
Is metaphor an illusionQ
Think think and thinkA2
