The lilies open their lips only to speak ofA
-
you the leaves whisper in my ears your cravingB
-
for meC
-
I spend nights without sleep staring at theD
-
starry skies with my heart torn between you andE
-
my peopleF
-
My eyes carry you and my nation as twoG
-
candles in search of my island of hopes whereH
-
my people wander on the sandy beaches in gayI
-
abandon tear the flesh of fruits with their teethJ
-
and prowl like beautiful wild animalsK
-
where I the storm fled away from theD
-
oceans take shelter in the coconut groves of yourL
-
bosomM
-
Where my nation surges like a wave of theD
-
sea which does not carry the load of ships whereH
-
the morning ray does not stab and kill theD
-
population of dreams of my people where I spreadN
-
myself as enormous green pasture for my country'sO
-
children to play and rompP
-
Let us go thereH
-
Where the roads of my country ramble into flowersQ
-
in the month of chaitra and carry like trainsR
-
my people the travelers to great festivalF
-
Let us not sit idleF
-
let us go and join our great people withS
-
our sickles in the festival of harvestingB
-
-
-
Once before the jaws of monstrous citiesO
-
Swallowed meC
-
I used to relax my limbs on the golden sands of seaside beachesT
-
And stretch my gaze beyond the restlessU
-
Waves of the blue seaC
-
I used to bathe in the vague sweetness of fancying the objects and landsV
-
beyond the limits of my visual experienceW
-
is it Rangoon or Singapore or BangkokX
-
or that large chunk of water that liquid sapphire the PacificY
-
which is my blue dream flyingB
-
In the sky fallen to the ground having lost its wings somewhere suddenlyC
-
Seas are punctuations in the sentence of earthZ
-
The running civilizations breath rest a whileA2
-
When commas colons and hyphens interfere in their travelsK
-
They are then introduced to the lands of new shoresB2
-
with fresh looks and In fresh garmentsC2
-
Seas are pots of ink which the earth usesT
-
To write her romancesD2
-
Empires civilizations scents of knowledgeE2
-
Are scribblings which the winds carry from the seasO
-
Those ancient winds light the cities rule the countriesO
-
And it is the same ink with which the epicsF2
-
Of man are written Time swallows the poemsG2
-
Written by man for the health of manH2
-
I ate old poems now and vomited theirH
-
Undigested limbs NowI2
-
My hunger is for the new wordJ2
-
I knit poems now with the voidK2
-
Thundering beyond my eyesL2
-
With the blue whispering beyond my seasO
-
With the heights soaring beyond my starsM2
-
With depths in me which my handN2
-
Cannot reachO2
-
With al the material which myP2
-
Contemporaries are not familiar withS
-
Beyond the cities in which I remainQ2
-
UndigestedN2
-
Beyond the forests where my soul hatchesD2
-
Her yearningsR2
-
Beyond that circular line which binds allS2
-
Created things and only the one arc of which isD2
-
Visible to human eyesL2
-
And beyond which my third eye craves to burstN2
-
There waiting for meC
-
My blue blue sea lying in waitN2
-
For centuries on endN2
