A Poem: In Delphi (1987) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGHIJAK LMNDK OP

Here the sea is caught in the mountainsA
and the wind in the olivesB
the bird suspended in the sky of joyC
for a moment like eternityD
-
Here where the gods walk on the hillsE
with their mighty legs set likeF
temple columnsG
we tracked our way my friends into the mythH
the breath of time which whispered in our earsI
the fables of earth s childhoodJ
we walked on ruinsA
which are stones and stories todayK
-
A poem was flowing down the cliffsL
of my mindM
I allowed her to flowN
to flow so slowly and softlyD
that my life may not ebb awayK
