To The God Of Pain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEE FF GHGH IIJJKK

UNWILLING priestess in thy cruel faneA
Long hast thou held me pitiless god of PainA
Bound to thy worship by reluctant vowsB
My tired breast girt with suffering and my browsB
Anointed with perpetual wearinessC
Long have I borne thy service through the stressD
Of rigorous years sad days and slumberless nightsE
Performing thine inexorable ritesE
-
-
For thy dark altars balm nor milk nor riceF
But mine own soul thou'st ta'en for sacrificeF
-
All the rich honey of my youth's desireG
And all the sweet oils from my crushed life drawnH
And all my flower like dreams and gem like fireG
Of hopes up leaping like the light of dawnH
-
-
I have no more to give all that was mineI
Is laid a wrested tribute at thy shrineI
Let me depart for my whole soul is wrungJ
And all my cheerless orisons are sungJ
Let me depart with faint limbs let me creepK
To some dim shade and sink me down to sleepK
