The Pardah Nashin Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF EEEEEE

HER life is a revolving dreamA
Of languid and sequestered easeB
Her girdles and her fillets gleamA
Like changing fires on sunset seasB
Her raiment is like morning mistC
Shot opal gold and amethystC
-
-
From thieving light of eyes impureD
From coveting sun or wind's caressE
Her days are guarded and secureD
Behind her carven latticesE
Like jewels in a turbaned crestF
Like secrets in a lover's breastF
-
-
But though no hand unsanctioned daresE
Unveil the mysteries of her graceE
Time lifts the curtain unawaresE
And Sorrow looks into her faceE
Who shall prevent the subtle yearsE
Or shield a woman's eyes from tearsE
