The Indian Gipsy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CDCCD EFEEF

In tattered robes that hoard a glittering traceA
Of bygone colours broidered to the kneeB
Behold her daughter of a wandering raceA
Tameless with the bold falcon's agile graceA
And the lithe tiger's sinuous majestyB
-
With frugal skill her simple wants she tendsC
She folds her tawny heifers and her sheepD
On lonely meadows when the daylight endsC
Ere the quick night upon her flock descendsC
Like a black panther from the caves of sleepD
-
Time's river winds in foaming centuriesE
Its changing swift irrevocable courseF
To far off and incalculable seasE
She is twin born with primal mysteriesE
And drinks of life at Time's forgotten sourceF
