Past And Future Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCD EEFGGF

The new hath come and now the old retiresA
And so the past becomes a mountain cellB
Where lone apart old hermit memories dwellB
In consecrated calm forgotten yetC
Of the keen heart that hastens to forgetC
Old longings in fulfilling new desiresD

And now the Soul stands in a vague intenseE
Expectancy and anguish of suspenseE
On the dim chamber threshold lo he seesF
Like a strange fated bride as yet unknownG
His timid future shrinking there aloneG
Beneath her marriage veil of mysteriesF
