Damayante To Nala In The Hour Of Exile Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCBDEDFF GHGHBBIIJJKLM NNOMP

SHALT thou be conquered of a human fateA
My liege my lover whose imperial headB
Hath never bent in sorrow of defeatC
Shalt thou be vanquished whose imperial feetC
Have shattered armies and stamped empires deadB
Who shall unking thee husband of a queenD
Wear thou thy majesty inviolateE
Earth's glories flee of human eyes unseenD
Earth's kingdoms fade to a remembered dreamF
But thine henceforth shall be a power supremeF
-
-
Dazzling command and rich dominionG
The winds thy heralds and thy vassals allH
The silver belted planets and the sunG
Where'er the radiance of thy coming fallH
Shall dawn for thee her saffron footcloths spreadB
Sunset her purple canopies and redB
In serried splendour and the night unfoldI
Her velvet darkness wrought with starry goldI
For kingly raiment soft as cygnet downJ
My hair shall braid thy temples like a crownJ
Of sapphires and my kiss upon thy browsK
Like ithar music lull thee to reposeL
Till the sun yield thee homage of his lightM
-
-
O king thy kingdom who from thee can wrestN
What fate shall dare uncrown thee from this breastN
O god born lover whom my love doth girdO
And armour with impregnable delightM
Of Hope's triumphant keen flame carven swordP
