To An Aeolian Harp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBADEFDGFThe winds have grown articulate in thee | A |
And voiced again the wail of ancient woe | B |
That smote upon the winds of long ago | B |
The cries of Trojan women as they flee | A |
The quivering moan of pale Andromache | C |
Now lifted loud with pain and now brought low | B |
It is the soul of sorrow that we know | B |
As in a shell the soul of all the sea | A |
So sometimes in the compass of a song | D |
Unknown to him who sings thro' lips that live | E |
The voiceless dead of long forgotten lands | F |
Proclaim to us their heaviness and wrong | D |
In sweeping sadness of the winds that give | G |
Thy strings no rest from weariless wild hands | F |
