The Years Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCD EEFFCD

To night I close my eyes and seeA
A strange procession passing meA
The years before I saw your faceB
Go by me with a wistful graceB
They pass the sensitive shy yearsC
As one who strives to dance half blind with tearsD
-
The years went by and never knewE
That each one brought me nearer youE
Their path was narrow and apartF
And yet it led me to your heartF
Oh sensitive shy years oh lonely yearsC
That strove to sing with voices drowned in tearsD
