The Wanderer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE GAAG

I saw the sunset colored sandsA
The Nile like flowing fire betweenB
Where Rameses stares forth sereneB
And Ammon's heavy temple standsA
-
I saw the rocks where long agoC
Above the sea that cries and breaksD
Bright Perseus with Medusa's snakesD
Set free the maiden white like snowC
-
And many skies have covered meE
And many winds have blown me forthF
And I have loved the green bright northF
And I have loved the cold sweet seaE
-
But what to me are north and southG
And what the lure of many landsA
Since you have leaned to catch my handsA
And lay a kiss upon my mouthG
