The Heart's House Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHFHIJKJ

My heart is but a little houseA
With room for only three or fourB
And it was filled before you knockedC
Upon the doorB
I longed to bid you come withinD
I knew that I should love you wellE
But if you came the rest must goF
Elsewhere to dwellE
For you would never be contentG
With just a corner in my roomH
Yea if you came the rest must goF
Into the gloomH
And so farewell O friend my friendI
Nay I could weep a little tooJ
But I shall only smile and sayK
Farewell to youJ
