The Ghost Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACDE FGAG DHFI ABAB

I went back to the clanging cityA
I went back where my old loves stayedB
But my heart was full of my new love's gloryA
My eyes were laughing and unafraidB
-
I met one who had loved me madlyA
And told his love for all to hearC
But we talked of a thousand things togetherD
The past was buried too deep to fearE
-
I met the other whose love was givenF
With never a kiss and scarcely a wordG
Oh it was then the terror took meA
Of words unuttered that breathed and stirredG
-
Oh love that lives its life with laughterD
Or love that lives its life with tearsH
Can die but love that is never spokenF
Goes like a ghost through the winding yearsI
-
I went back to the clanging cityA
I went back where my old loves stayedB
My heart was full of my new love's gloryA
But my eyes were suddenly afraidB
