Will it always be like this until I am deadA
Every spring must I bear it all againB
With the first red haze of the budding maple boughsC
And the first sweet smelling rainD

Oh I am like a rock in the rising riverE
Where the flooded water breaks with a low callF
Like a rock that knows the cry of the watersG
And cannot answer at allF
