Sonnet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEEDFGFHIII saw a ship sail forth at evening time | A |
Her prow was gilded by the western fire | B |
And all her rigging one vast golden lyre | C |
For winds to play on to the ocean's rhyme | A |
Of wave on wave forever singing low | D |
She floated on a web of burnished gold | E |
And in such light as praying men behold | E |
Cling round a vision were her sails aglow | D |
I saw her come again when dawn was grey | F |
Her wonder faded and her splendor dead ' | G |
She whom I loved once had upon her way | F |
A light most like the sunset Now 'tis sped | H |
And this is saddest what seemed wondrous fair | I |
Are now but straight pale lips and dull gold hair | I |
