Since There Is No Escape Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEEFGGF

Since there is no escape since at the endA
My body will be utterly destroyedB
This hand I love as I have loved a friendA
This body I tended wept with and enjoyedB
Since there is no escape even for meC
Who love life with a love too sharp to bearD
The scent of orchards in the rain the seaC
And hours alone too still and sure for prayerD
Since darkness waits for me then all the moreE
Let me go down as waves sweep to the shoreE
In pride and let me sing with my last breathF
In these few hours of light I lift my headG
Life is my lover I shall leave the deadG
If there is any way to baffle deathF
