New Year's Dawn'broadway Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEFGHIBJKLMNOPQ HRHST

When the horns wear thinA
And the noise like a garment outwornA
Falls from the nightB
The tattered and shivering nightB
That thinks she is gayC
When the patient silence comes backD
And retiresE
And returnsF
Rebuffed by a ribald songG
Wounded by vehement criesH
Fleeing again to the starsI
Ashamed of her sister the nightB
Oh then they steal homeJ
The blinded the pitiful onesK
With their gew gaws still in their handsL
Reeling with odorous breathM
And thick coarse words on their tonguesN
They get them to bed somehowO
And sleep the forgivingP
Comes thru the scattering tumultQ
And closes their eyesH
The stars sink down ashamedR
And the dawn awakesH
Like a youth who steals from a brothelS
Dizzy and sickT
