In A Subway Station Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKKGLEAD| After a year I came again to the place | A |
| The tireless lights and the reverberation | B |
| The angry thunder of trains that burrow the ground | C |
| The hunted hurrying people were still the same | D |
| But oh another man beside me and not you | E |
| Another voice and other eyes in mine | F |
| And suddenly I turned and saw again | G |
| The gleaming curve of tracks the bridge above | H |
| They were burned deep into my heart before | I |
| The night I watched them to avoid your eyes | J |
| When you were saying Oh look up at me | K |
| When you were saying Will you never love me | K |
| And when I answered with a lie Oh then | G |
| You dropped your eyes I felt your utter pain | L |
| I would have died to say the truth to you | E |
| After a year I came again to the place | A |
| The hunted hurrying people were still the same | D |
