Fear Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEEFGGF

I am afraid oh I am so afraidA
The cold black fear is clutching me to nightB
As long ago when they would take the lightB
And leave the little child who would have prayedA
Frozen and sleepless at the thought of deathC
My heart that beats too fast will rest too soonD
I shall not know if it be night or noonD
Yet shall I struggle in the dark for breathC
Will no one fight the Terror for my sakeE
The heavy darkness that no dawn will breakE
How can they leave me in that dark aloneF
Who loved the joy of light and warmth so muchG
And thrilled so with the sense of sound and touchG
How can they shut me underneath a stoneF
