The Faded Flower Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDDCEFEFGH

Ungrateful he who pluck'd thee from thy stalkA
Poor faded flow'ret on his careless wayB
Inhal'd awhile thy odours on his walkA
Then onward pass'd and left thee to decayB
Ah melancholy emblem had I seenC
Thy modest beauties dew'd with Evening's gemD
I had not rudely cropp'd thy parent stemD
But left thee blushing 'mid the enliven'd greenC
And now I bend me o'er thy wither'd bloomE
And drop the tear as Fancy at my sideF
Deep sighing points the fair frail Abra's tombE
'Like thine sad Flower was that poor wanderer's prideF
Oh lost to Love and Truth whose selfish joyG
Tasted her vernal sweets but tasted to destroy 'H
