On A Connubial Rupture In High Life Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ

I sigh fair injured stranger for thy fateA
But what shall sighs avail thee Thy poor heartB
'Mid all the 'pomp and circumstance' of stateA
Shivers in nakedness Unbidden startB
-
Sad recollections of Hope's garish dreamC
That shaped a seraph form and named it LoveD
Its hues gay varying as the orient beamC
Varies the neck of Cytherea's doveD
-
To one soft accent of domestic joyE
Poor are the shouts that shake the high arched domeF
Those plaudits that thy public path annoyE
Alas they tell thee Thou'rt a wretch at homeF
-
O then retire and weep Their very woesG
Solace the guiltless Drop the pearly floodH
On thy sweet infant as the full blown roseG
Surcharged with dew bends o'er its neighb'ring budH
-
And oh that Truth some holy spell might lendI
To lure thy wanderer from the syren's powerJ
Then bid your souls inseparably blendI
Like two bright dewdrops meeting in a flowerJ
