Life Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EEFEFF

As late I journey'd o'er the extensive plainA
Where native Otter sports his scanty streamB
Musing in torpid woe a Sister's painA
The glorious prospect woke me from the dreamB
-
At every step it widen'd to my sightC
Wood Meadow verdant Hill and dreary SteepD
Following in quick succession of delightC
Till all at once did my eye ravish'd sweepD
-
May this I cried my course through Life portrayE
New scenes of Wisdom may each step displayE
And Knowledge open as my days advanceF
Till what time Death shall pour the undarken'd rayE
My eye shall dart thro' infinite expanseF
And thought suspended lie in Rapture's blissful tranceF
