Domestic Peace Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFGHH

Tell me on what holy groundA
May domestic peace be foundA
Halcyon daughter of the skiesB
Far on fearful wing she fliesB
From the pomp of scepter'd stateC
From the rebel's noisy hateC
In a cottaged vale she dwellsD
List'ning to the Sabbath bellsD
Still around her steps are seenE
Spotless honor's meeker mienE
Love the sire of pleasing fearsF
Sorrow smiling through her tearsG
And conscious of the past employH
Memory bosom spring of joyH
