To ----- Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD BEBF GHGH IJKJ

Ah little thought she when with wild delightA
By many a torrent's shining track she flewB
When mountain glens and caverns full of nightA
O'er her young mind divine enchantment threwB
-
That in her veins a secret horror sleptC
That her light footsteps should be heard no moreD
That she should die nor watch'd alas nor weptC
By thee unconscious of the pangs she boreD
-
Yet round her couch indulgent Fancy drewB
The kindred forms her closing eye requir'dE
There didst thou stand there with the smile she knewB
She mov'd her lips to bless thee and expir'dF
-
And now to thee she comes still still the sameG
As in the hours gone unregarded byH
To thee how chang'd comes as she ever cameG
Health on her cheek and pleasure in her eyeH
-
Nor less less oft as on that day appearsI
When lingering as prophetic of the truthJ
By the way side she shed her parting tearsK
For ever lovely in the light of YouthJ
